A bit about me

Ever since I can remember I have had a coloured pencil in my hand. My favourite Christmas present was a large pack of felt tip pens and a Bumper colouring book! In school I passed my art exams with ease and also very much enjoyed all kinds of crafts.

Throughout my training and working years as a nurse I continued to indulge in my artistic hobbies. I have now retired from nursing ( mostly!) During covid I was given plenty of time to be creative. I have used water colours and oils and decided to try painting with acrylics and have found this medium to be perfect for me.

Bespoke Artwork

I found once I had decided on a theme to paint I spent very little time drawing it out and couldn’t wait to dive in to the paints. I particularly started to draw animals with open mouthed expressions and enjoyed seeing how they would emerge on the canvas.

It seemed a shame that each picture I finished ended up in a box ( well five boxes now!)

Meanwhile my friends adopted a rescued german shepherd called lady who I wanted to paint as a surprise for them. They loved the painting and I moved on to painting other peoples pets by request.

I also got some of my other artwork printed on to cards, bags,  book marks etc and began a market stall selling those items and offering pet portraits

This website just seemed a natural progression from there where people can see my work.

I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully you would like to commission painting for yourself or as a surprise for a loved one.
