Hints and tips on sending me a pet photo to paint.

First it is best to remove any harness, especially as they hide markings on the chest and sometimes cause extra rolls of skin around the neck.

Decide what pose you would like, most people choose a straight on head and shoulders while sitting, this works well as the face and eyes in
the finished picture appear to follow you around the room.

Take your picture level with your pet otherwise proportions tend to look wrong. You don’t want little feet attached to their chin!

Make sure there is good lighting, preferably straight on to give the eyes life, a glint and colour, this is very important.

Take a few other close up pictures of eyes, mouth etc for reference, if I can’t see the little dots or odd hairs of a different colour that make your pet special then I can’t paint them.

I will start the painting as soon as we are both happy with the photo and I receive a £15 deposit on a first come first served basis and I will communicate with you along the way. The remaining £40 plus £5.50 P&P is due prior to delivery/postage.

My canvasses are 10 inches by 12 inches and look better framed with a border of about two inches. Your picture will be an original piece of art created completely by hand.
